Biological Bonding

Biological Bonding

In her new exhibition Biological Bonding, Iben Toft Nørgård takes us, once again, into to the depths of the unknown where the most peculiar plants grow and the oddest insects thrive. In this borderland between the 'would-be's and the 'far-out-skirt's she'll let us explore the wonders of the imagined evolution, the discoveries of new species and the disgust of lab-created lifeforms. All in the shape of 2D and 3D hand-cut paper collages and all specially made for this exhibition.

The main spectacle in the exhibition is the new work ”Biological Bonding” (from which the exhibition also lends its name) is skillfully created for this occassion. Iben Toft Nørgård has spent hours patiently exploring possible new lifeforms: spawned from flora, shaped like insects and collected for this exhibition. One can only wonder where these odd creatures come from and which peculiar world do they inhabit? Iben Toft Nørgård draws her inspiration from natures ability to adapt as well as the somewhat concerning possibilities that exists in the scientists lab.
